Grey’s just wouldn’t be Grey’s with out those trademark (what I call) mouth-dropping moments. You know, when you’re sitting there watching the show and thinking you know what is going to happen…then, suddenly, your mouth drops! You never saw it coming. Things went a totally different direction than you ever even imagined.

Here are just a few of my favorite mouth-dropping moments (these are not in any order):

• As I mentioned in my previous post, when Addison confronts Meredith as “the woman who is sleeping with my husband” in the Season 1 Finale.
• The bomb Meredith helped remove from the patient explodes in the hands of the bomb squad dude. (That was also a ‘take my breath away’ moment for me)
• George becomes a sex machine (Do I need to explain that one?); and then he proposes to and marries Callie.
• Dr. Burke was shot in going to check Denny Duckett’s heart status for a transplant; and, after a successful heart transplant,  Denny dies.
• The entire George and Izzie romance, particularly when George remembers what happened between him and Izzie after their night of drinking together. The silence in the supply room between them spoke volumes.
• Cristina goes to the chief about Burke’s tremor; and then Burke walks into the office, turns around and sees Cristina there.
• Burke walks out of his wedding and breaks it off with Cristina; and then Cristina and Meredith rip off her gown in an emotional rush.
• Meredith gets knocked into the water at the ferry boat accident; and the subsequent efforts to revive her.
• Meredith’s stepmom dies and her father, in a grief-stricken rage, slaps her.

There are so many more of those moments, but these are the ones that remain so prominent in my mind.
