Withdrawals
Is anyone else having Grey’s withdrawals?
I’m not sure what to do with my television-watching time now that all my favorite shows are over.
While I am a loyal-to-the-end Grey’s fan, there are a couple of other shows that strike my fancy.
Probably taking second place in my tv heart is “CSI: Miami.” (Gotta love Horatio Caine, the epitome of cool.) Miami’s another show that left me shocked and eager to tune in next season.
I was once a big “ER” fan, and I’ll admit, Grey’s kind of pushed it to the back burner. But with next season being the show’s last, I — always loyal to the end — do plan to watch and see how it all wraps up. (As long as they don’t change the time slot. That would be suicide).
BTW: Have you heard how television ratings have decreased this year? Could it be the mid-season writers’ strike that decreased our faith in the industry? UM, YES! It did for me, anyway.
I wouldn’t take too much stock in the low ratings, though. I also read reports that despite to decreased ratings, shows like Grey’s, “American Idol” and “Desperate Housewives” were some of the most watched of the season.
And it also has been reported that the Big 3 networks (ABC, NBC, CBS) are hoping to increase our lost faith by focusing more on returning shows and a little less on newbies next season. That’s good, I think. I hope they realize the real cost of the writer’s strike and I hope that their attempt to make things right with the viewers will be a success.
The networks have a lot of making up to do — at least to me.
INPUT NEEDED: I really want to keep everythinggrey’s alive and well through the summer. If you have questions, suggestions or topic ideas, please post them in the comment section. Thanks!
