A Mouth-Dropping Night
Boy, do I enjoy being wrong, especially in this case. My observations of tonight’s episode “Losing my Mind” were somewhat off, but still fun to watch!
That kiss with Erica and Callie stunned more that McSteamy, who was hilariously trying to stave off sex (that didn’t go to well it seems, much to probably no one’s surprise). But Callie’s reaction — she seemed to have a shocked (but not in a necessarily bad way) look about her. It seems she may have a big decision to make before season four wraps up next Thursday.
And Alex’s handling of the Ava psychotic break situation was noble — I do hope he cares enough to eventually get some help for her. And Alex and Izzie’s friendship seems to have come through OK (or as OK as Karev can be about anything emotional).
Speaking of getting help…they certainly put us on a roller coaster with Meredith’s decision to continue therapy. But it seems that the good doctor’s refusal to give up on Meredith paid off and our Dr. Grey is getting some much needed help.
I don’t see the “no fairy tale, let’s just have fun” idea working for Derek and Rose for too long. Dr. Shepherd is just not that kind of guy and Rose doesn’t seem the type to stay in “fun” mode for long.
Dr. Hahn seemed to perform a miracle with Weber’s mentor tonight, in spite of the fact that she felt forced into the surgery. And Cristina is still coping with the after-effects of Burke’s newspaper article appearance – being in the the dark place is different for her (and interesting for us). But Lexi came through it all well, standing up to Cristina and sister Meredith in a single episode — she’s one tough intern.
I personally am interested in seeing Dr. Bailey attempt to work things out with her husband, but it seems that being a surgeon and having a family is a delicate juggling act. Bailey’s got the stuff, though. If anyone can do it, she can.
I hear that big things will be happening in next week’s two-hour season finale. It’s been hinted that Derek and Meredith’s clinical trial might see a success, but I hope to see the champagne cork popping over more than that.
